YCTA Unveils Taxpayer Website

Taxpayer protections one click away -- www.yolotaxpayers.com

Woodland – Today, the Yolo County Taxpayers Association (YCTA) unveiled its new website at www.yolotaxpayers.com. The new website is intended to communicate the benefits of public participation in public policy matters that impact local taxpayers and the quality of life in Yolo County. Website visitors can also signup for electronic “Taxpayer Alerts” on critical issues that impact their pocket book.

“The way local government is conducting its public affairs today illustrates the need for greater government oversight,” said Dudley Holman, president of YCTA. “Chronic budget deficits and risky land use policies are a threat to local taxpayers and critical public services such as education and public safety. Yolo County Taxpayers Association’s website will assure taxpayers that someone is holding government accountable for the money it spends and the results it delivers.”

The website provides features membership information, meeting dates and special events, a news room and a special feature page on hot topics such as Conaway Ranch. YCTA has been the leading critic of the county’s decision to use eminent domain to seize the 17,000 acre Conaway Ranch and its failure to hold public meetings on the legal and financial risks associated with their plan to finance the seizure from unwilling sellers.

Yolo County Taxpayer Association is a voice for Yolo County taxpayers and is dedicated to holding government accountability to Yolo County taxpayers.
